What "lake view" really means

Hotels use the phrase loosely. A full lake view means the water and the hills are in front of you from your seat. A partial view may show only a slice of the lake past other buildings. Ask exactly which side the room faces, and request a recent photo taken from the room.

Balcony or standard room?

A balcony gives you a private seat in front of the view. Pick based on how you plan to use the room. Our Lake View Super Deluxe Room has a private balcony facing the lake, while the Standard Room is a quieter, easier-priced choice for travellers who spend most of the day out.

Questions to ask before you book

Which side does the room face? Is there a balcony? Are there stairs to reach it? Is a heater available in winter, and is hot water available all day? Is parking free? Are meals available at the hotel? Is the room suitable for older guests or children?

Match the room to your trip

For a honeymoon, choose a king-size bed with a private balcony. For a family of four, choose a room that sleeps four. See each room in detail on our accommodation page.

Season and timing

In summer a balcony is a pleasure from morning to night. In winter you will want a heater and hot water. Lake view rooms fill first in May, June and around the New Year, so book early.

Location matters too

The Tallital side is quieter than the busiest streets near Mall Road and often easier for parking. Check how far the hotel is from the sights you care about, and whether free parking is offered.
